Genre: Electronic / Instrumental
The first release under HJE. Unlike later projects, Memories contains no lyrics and instead tells its story through atmosphere, progression and emotion. Sharp, cinematic and dramatic, the track constantly evolves, reflecting the way memories shift over time. The piece explores the idea that after every experience, relationship and chapter of life has passed, memories are all that remain.
Genre: EDM / House
A story about rebirth, hope and inevitability. The protagonist believes he can reinvent himself, leave the past behind and discover new purpose through love. Yet every attempt leads him back to the same destructive cycle, ending in heartbreak. As the pattern repeats, he gradually accepts that he cannot escape his own nature and ultimately succumbs to his perfect paradox.
Genre: Electronic / Indie Pop
A project centred around acceptance and forgiveness. Rather than assigning blame, the protagonist chooses to exonerate both himself and his lover, accepting the past and moving forward.
Genre: Electronic / Indie Pop
A deeply personal story about realising that a relationship was never truly meant for the protagonist. As the truth unfolds, he discovers that the love he fought for was never his to begin with - and that even if it had been, it still would not have been enough.
Genre: Afrobeats / Drum & Bass / Grime
Inspired by themes, ideas and events from the Pirates of the Carribean series, Davy Jones's Locker follows a confident protagonist navigating love, ambition and identity. Blending nautical imagery with modern storytelling, the project explores personal philosophies, self-belief and the search for connection while drawing inspiration from one of fiction's most iconic pirate worlds.
Genre: Grime / Afrobeats
Inspired by the Scream horror franchise, this concept project blends relationship drama with psychological horror. Featuring references to characters, themes and moments from the films, alongside samples taken from the franchise itself, the story follows a protagonist attempting to blame a failed relationship on his lover. As the narrative progresses, his version of events begins to unravel, revealing a far more complicated truth beneath the surface.
Genre: Grime / Afrobeats / Electronic
The deluxe continuation of Scream. Expanding the original narrative through five additional tracks, Screaming further explores the consequences of the protagonist's actions and reveals the truth hidden behind his accusations. Drawing even deeper from the themes of the Scream franchise, the project completes the story by exposing the narrator as the true source of the chaos he once blamed on others.
Genre: Dark Pop / Synthwave / Alternative R&B
HJE's flagship project and most personal release to date. Heaven in Disguise follows a protagonist who believes he has found salvation in another person, only to discover that what appeared to be heaven was something far darker beneath the surface.
Through themes of obsession, heartbreak, self-awareness and personal growth, the album explores the dangers of idealising people and the consequences of losing yourself in the process. Tragic in nature but deeply human at its core, Heaven in Disguise represents the clearest expression of HJE's storytelling philosophy.
