Hayden-John Elliott, professionally known as HJE, is an independent British songwriter, storyteller and creative artist from Leighton Buzzard, England.
Since releasing his first music in 2021, HJE has developed a style centred around cinematic storytelling, emotional lyricism and immersive worlds. Influenced by artists such as The Weeknd and Fall Out Boy, his current music blends synthwave, drum & bass and rock to create stories that explore love, obsession, personal struggle, self-awareness and growth.
The name HJE comes directly from Hayden-John's initials. Rather than creating a seperate persona, the project represents exactly who he is. Storytelling sits at the heart of every release, with each album acting as its own world while contributing to a wider creative universe.
Many of HJE's songs are inspired by real experiences, emotions and relationships. While fictional elements are often introduced to strengthen the narrative, the foundation of the music remains deeply personal. His goal is to create an escape where listeners can experience their own emotions, find comfort in shared struggles and realise they are never truly alone.
Outside of music, Hayden-John enjoys nature, storytelling and creative media. If he were not pursuing music, he would likely be writing novels, television scripts or film stories - another reflection of the narrative focus that defines his work.
Driven by creativity, relatability and a desire to leave behind a lasting legacy, HJE continues to build a catalogue of music designed to connect with listeners long after the songs have ended.
