1. Scope and contact

This policy covers ΤΑΡΙΦΑ / Tarifa (appsndowns.taximetroprof), version 5.0.0, developed by Johan Metaxas. For privacy questions, contact taxameter.de@gmail.com.

2. Location access

The app requests precise location permission to calculate distance, speed, duration and an indicative trip cost. Measurement may continue while you use another app or lock the screen through an Android foreground service with a notification. You can stop measurement in the app or revoke location permission in Android settings. Distance measurement cannot work properly without this permission.

The app uses GPS / Android location services and Google Play Services Location. Google services and any processing performed by Google are governed by your device settings and the Google Privacy Policy. The developer does not operate a location-collection server, and the app does not send trips to a developer server.

3. Local storage and deletion

Preferences and measurement state are stored locally, including the selected rate, distances, duration, GPS time and last geographic position, to restore an active measurement if the service is interrupted. This stored state is not a continuous geographic route log.

Data remains in the app's private storage until replaced or deleted. To erase all local data, use Android Settings → Apps → Tarifa → Storage → Clear data. This also removes preferences. We have no remote access to local data.

4. Backups

The app allows Android backups. Depending on your device and settings, local data may be included in backups or device transfers. These features are controlled by the operating system and backup provider. The developer cannot access them. Clearing local data does not guarantee immediate removal from older backups; manage these through the relevant settings.

5. Advertising and sharing

Version 5.0.0 does not include advertising, analytics or developer crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell trip or location data. No app account is required, and the app does not request access to contacts, camera, microphone or messages. Google handles distribution and any Google Play payments; the app does not receive payment-card details. External links are governed by the policies of the respective services.

6. Support and retention

If you email us, we process your sender address, message and any attachments you choose to send to respond to your request. Correspondence is hosted in Gmail. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing support. We retain correspondence for as long as necessary to handle the request and meet any applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion through our contact email.

7. Security and your rights

Local data is protected by Android mechanisms. Security also depends on the protection of your device and accounts. For support data, where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. For device data, use the local deletion options. You may complain to your competent supervisory authority; in Greece, this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy covers version 5.0.0. If data processing changes, we will update the policy, related declarations and in-app notices. The update date appears at the top.
