Poultry Selection

Our Live Chick Camera: These are my current babies that hatched on 4 weeks ago. This is my fancy barn yard mix which I am raising to replace some of my hens.

Backyard Fowl Project:

I'm in the process of building my own backyard flock which will include chickens, quail, peafowl and turkeys. I would like to build variety in my flock for future eggs sales as well as personal meat production. To build my flock, I am incubating eggs I have acquired from farms that are certified under the National Poultry Improvement Plan of the US Poultry and Egg Association. I would like to get my own flock certified as well. I will have some extra chicks which I would like to offer to my friends and neighbors. Additional information and pictures is available if you click on each poultry type listed below. The following are the breeds and mixes I will have available:

• Easter Egger Chickens SOLD OUT

• Bearded Silkies Chickens $20 roosters, $60 laying hens

• Indian Blue Peafowl SOLD OUT

• Pure White Peafowl SOLD OUT

• Snowflake Bob White Quail $10 for straight run 2-4 months old. $15 for confirmed males

• Assorted Jumbo & Celadon(blue egg layers) Coturnix Quail $5 for 2 week chick, $10 for males, $20 laying hens

• Silkie/English Bantam mix $10 for 3-5 month old pullets & cockerels

• Silkie/Polish mix $10 for 3-5 month old pullets & cockerels

Purchase Agreement:

• All chicks will be offered as "straight run" mix.

• A variety of breeds will be provided when ordering a mix of these chicks.

• Chick have been feed an organic feed, have had access to clean water and are resting from hatching. Here are some tips on raising chicks your own chicks.

• Delivery service offered in the Coachella Valley and Northern Imperial County, complimentary.

• Payment via Paypal would allow for contactless delivery.

• Appointment will be agreed upon before I will personally delivery the chicks. Extreme weather can hurt the chicks.

• Buyer should have chick brooder already set up. Here is a great YouTube video explaining how to set up a chick brooder.

Ocotillo Homestead's Ordering Procedure:

1. Complete the "Order Request" form. Make sure to provide a phone and/or email for communication.

2. Receive a call, text and/or email confirming request with the available stock.

3. Picture of selection will be texted and/or emailed confirming order.

4. PayPal Payment invoice will be sent to buyer. Cash payments are acceptable, but are due upon delivery.

5. Appointment will be made between both buyer and seller so that chicks are delivered safely and quickly.

6. Complimentary Delivery is offered throughout the Coachella Valley and Northern Imperial County. Email me with additional request.
