Disability Rights Wisconsin-Disability Rights Wisconsin is the designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency for Wisconsin and is part of a nation-wide network of P&A agencies. The Protection and Advocacy system is a combination of federally funded programs that serve people across the spectrum of disabilities to protect against abuse, neglect, or wrongdoing, and to enforce the rights of people with disabilities. We can provide many services such as advocacy, legal support, and rights protection.

Family Advocacy Training-Parents, family members, and people close to youth, have a big impact on a child’s future success and image of themselves. Family members and other supportive adults can also help identify opportunities and set expectations for what’s possible for a young person. This training provides families with tools and strategies to advocate for their child’s future. The goal is to empower and strengthen families to open doors for youth with disabilities.

Family Voices of Wisconsin-You already advocate for your family member. Come join others in your same situation and learn how to advocate to ensure the voices of other families are heard too. Don’t worry. You can do this and we’ll show you how.

NAMI Wisconsin-NAMI Wisconsin is a state organization of NAMI. The mission of NAMI Wisconsin is to improve the quality of life of people affected by mental illness and to promote recovery.

Opions for Independent Living- Advocacy is a central component of Options. Staff provides training, information, and support to promote an individuals right to full inclusion within his or her community. Options encourages individuals to become involved in local, state, and federal legislative issues that affect people with disabilities.

Wisconsin BPDD-Learn how to become a seasoned leader in Wisconsin! This six-session workshop will train you how to advocate for policies and initiatives that support full participation and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities.

Wisconsin Family Ties-Wisconsin Family Ties (WFT) is the only statewide, parent-run organization in Wisconsin working with families that include children with social, emotional or behavioral challenges. We walk beside families to provide emotional support while helping to navigate the complex service and treatment systems with which they are involved.

Wisconsin Free Legal Answers- Wisconsin Free Legal Answers is a free website for low-income people who cannot afford a lawyer. You can use the website to get free brief legal advice from volunteer lawyers when you have non-criminal legal questions.

Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System- Maintaining, supporting, and improving the WSEMS to ensure statewide availability of a high quality system of mediation and facilitation to parents and educators for resolving disputes in special education. Coordinating case intake, screening, and referral. Explaining the process and benefits of mediation to parties. Providing training and technical support for the mediators.

Wisconsin Statewide Parent Educator Initiative-WSPEI is all about partnerships. Our goal is to help families and school districts find or create the resources that will help them build positive working relationships that lead to shared decision making and better outcomes for the student.
