The Ohio County Jail Leadership Network (OCJLN) uses two primary platforms to keep our peer collaboration professional, organized, and accessible: Community Discussion Forum Platform and Zoom.
OCJLN Discussion Community Forum – Our Secure Members Only Collaboration Hub
The Community Forum is where OCJLN members connect for day-to-day communication, peer support, and resource sharing.
We chose a traditional online discussion forum platform because:
• It’s free and easy to use
• It works independently from IT systems and won’t conflict with tools like Microsoft Teams, personal social networks, or other user accounts.
• It allows us to organize topics into dedicated discussion channels for staffing, compliance, training, officer wellness, and more
• It supports both real-time discussion and searchable archives
Our Online Discussion Community is currently a traditional secure members-only forum. Upon joining the OCJLN, you will receive a invite to create a free account. The discussion forum is not a mobile app, however the forum website is mobile device friendly, and operates like a mobile phone application. You can add the website to your mobile device's home screen like an app.
Zoom – Our Meeting Platform
We use Zoom for live OCJLN meetings, including:
• Monthly roundtables
• Guest speaker sessions
• Policy discussions
• Collaborative planning
All OCJLN collaboration outside of scheduled meetings takes place on the Community Forum. Members are expected to follow professional conduct and confidentiality standards at all times.
You can install the Zoom app on your mobile / tablet devices, or use the website version. Information about virtual meetings will be made available via the Discussion Community platform and by email announcement.
