Ohio County Jail Leadership Network
Connecting County Jail Leadership Across All of Ohio’s 88 Counties
The Ohio County Jail Leadership Network (OCJLN) is a collaborative, statewide network created to bring together jail command staff, supervisory personnel, and administrative leaders from Ohio’s 88 counties.
This initiative is designed to support county jail professionals by fostering real-time communication, collaborative problem-solving, and practical resource sharing.
Why OCJLN Was Created
Historically, Ohio has had limited infrastructure for connecting county jail leaders in an ongoing, collaborative format. While past efforts and membership in professional organizations provided value, they were largely in-person, static, or limited to a few events per year.
OCJLN was launched to change that — providing a year-round, online, peer-led space where county-level jail professionals can:
Share operational challenges and successful strategies.
Discuss compliance, inspections, training, staffing, staff wellness, and other important topics.
Build a trusted statewide support system.
Our Principles
Professionalism: All interactions are respectful and solution-focused. Unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated.
Confidentiality: No sensitive information is allowed.
Peer-Led: Built by correctional professionals.
Separation from Social Media: OCJLN does not use social platforms to preserve its privacy and professional integrity.
Who Should Join
Corporals, Sergeants, Lieutenants, & Captains.
Unfortunately, this group is not open to Deputies or Corrections Officers.
Not Affiliated With
OCJLN is not affiliated with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC), the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association (BSSA), or any official government entity. It is an independent peer to peer community designed to serve the real-world needs of county jail leaders.
