Key Dates for the Year 5 Opportunity Class 2026

Please see below for some important dates for starting at our school.

7 November 2024 | Applications open for Year 5 entry in 2026

21 February 2025 | Applications close for Year 5 entry in 2026

14 March 2025 | Last day for parents to update their contact details, or if their child has changed schools since applying, in the application dashboard

17 April 2025 from 3 pm | Test centre and Test Admission Ticket released - including any reasonable adjustments granted for the test

2-4 May 2025 | Opportunity Class Placement Test (students are allocated to attend one test day only)

9 May 2025 | Illness/misadventure requests due (for the standard testing period between 2-4 May 2025)

18 May 2025 | First rescheduled Opportunity Class Placement Test

24 May 2025 | Second rescheduled Opportunity Class Placement Test

31 May 2025 | Last day to change school choices. Illness/misadventure requests due for the make-up and rescheduled tests only

29 August 2025 | Placement outcome information sent to parents.

22 January 2026 | Reserve decision date

2 February 2026 | The Opportunity Class will commence.

First day of school for Year 5 OC students!

Students meet at 9:10am outside the Neutral Bay Public School Hall.
OC students will be dismissed from the basketball court (near the Bydown Street gate) at 3:15 pm.
Students catching a bus home will be walked to their bus stop by a staff member on the first day of school.
