About OCHEA

OCHEA is a private, registered organization for

Christian home schooling families on Okinawa, Japan. Our encouragement, help and services are offered to everyone; however, our organizational bylaws and statement of faith were written, and are governed according to scriptural principals found in the Bible.

OCHEA maintains an active calendar of events throughout the year which typically includes field trips, park days, mom's night out, community service and cooperative classes when available. OCHEA also holds a monthly membership meeting. Generally, events are for OCHEA members only, but occasionally we open events to other homeschooling families.

Some of the events held in years past are, Lego club, Namaste Nepal night, pool parties, scrapbooking, Cupcake Kids cupcake sale, geocaching, mother daughter tea, a science fair, a recital, snowman building, Easter outreach, meal ministry, president's fair, Scripps National Spelling Bee, a homeschool forum, living history museum, standardized testing and a curriculum fair. Some of our many field trips have included strawberry picking, a visit to a salt factory, AFN, Macaroni Grill tour, NCIS, Murasaki Mura and cherry blossom viewing.

There are also several opportunities throughout the year to fellowship together at member gatherings such as the beach blast, a family retreat week-end, holiday parties, picnics and the end of the year promotion/graduation ceremony.
