Main House Tour
Information:
- Utilizing historical references is a fascinating way to imagine what life was like when the Field family used to live here
- We will start outdoors reviewing the many buildings on the grounds, the landscape, architecture, construction and functioning of this once grand self sufficient estate.
- After a walk around the exterior of the Main House, we will then go inside to see and find out what the different rooms were designed for.

ROV Building
Information:
- Learn about the many uses of ROV's (Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles) and how they have changed the way we currently understand the ocean for what it is today
- Students will have the chance to get hands on experience by building their very own ROV and being able to operate it within a pool!

Marine Science and Technology
Information:
- Discover the uses of science and technology involved within Marine Science including but not limited to: Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles (ROVs), a hands-on Marine Invertebrates lesson, different methods of diving and more.
- Participants will not only be able to learn, but also view for themselves what life below the ocean is like

Ornithology (Birding)
Information:
- Learn and observe the various amounts of bird species that reside here on Long Island
- We have an Osprey nest right onsire here at Caumsett State Park at the Main House as well as multiple bird conservation areas for you to check out!
- Families will be able to take a walking tour around the park with our Ornithologist - be sure to bring your binoculars!

Marine Archaeology and Forensics of a Shipwreck
Information:
- Learn about the wonders of the ocean by analyzing real ship wreck artifacts recovered by our very own professional divers
- Participants will first learn about the history of the USS San Diego using actual artifacts to determine important information about the shipwreck
- Participants will then have 40 artifacts that they will analyze on their own to determine the historical information about a different shipwreck
- This is a great way to learn the historical significance of our past and learn how to identify the time periods in which things were once used and created

Nature Hike
Information:
- See the park through a different perspective by taking a walk around Caumsett State Park with an experienced naturalist.
- Participants will learn about the many different plants, animals, birds and greater ecosystem of the park as they enjoy the outdoors
- Depending on the day, the participants and what nature is showcasing, we may: hike through the woods via a few fields, or hike the escarpment trail overlooking Long Island Sound, perhaps take a stroll along the seashore or even enter the salt marsh. This is a very diverse preserve offering many different aspects of natural history.

Environmental Science - Outside and Inside the Home
Information:
- Learn about the importance of our environment and how to live sustainably, every decision with the environment in mind can make a big difference
- Learn about sustainability from our staff member who lives in a sustainable home and discover the practical benefits that you too can use
- Topics include but are not limited to: composting, garbage and recycling, plastics, pollution, gardening, sustainable materials, solar and more

Glacial Geology
Information:
- Why does Long Island look the way it does? We will explore the landscape to see when and how Long Island was formed using the geological structure we see today
- We will also cover the geologic time line, as well as discuss fossils and soils, from clay, to the boulder strewn landscapes of the north shore.

How the programs will work:
1. Look through the schedule and descriptions of each program we offer and select the one you would like to participate in
2. Preregister online today to reserve your spot, or arrive for the program the day of
NOTE: programs are first come first serve, please arrive to the park at least 10 minutes before your program time
3. Park at the main lot upon entrance to the park
NOTE: If you preregister for the program, you do not have to pay the $8 entrance fee for the park. But this is ONLY if you preregister. Arrive at the booth and say you are with OceansWide, then proceed to park.
4. If you arrive early (or just prefer it), you can walk up to the Main House OR wait for our buses in the parking lot.
NOTE: Buses are only provided to those who preregister and will leave the parking lot 5 minutes before the scheduled program time
NOTES: Buses will NOT run on the weekends due to increased park traffic
5. Payment for the program will be made before the start of the program. We accept cash or check
