About OceansWide
OceansWide is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization started in 2008 by Campbell (Buzz) Scott in Newcastle Maine. OceansWide is focused on hands on learning tailored to the needs of the student. Our mission is to introduce those young and old to what lies beneath the ocean’s surface, inspiring them to become advocates for ocean health in these times of great stress on our worlds ecosystems, and exposing them to possible careers as ocean scientists and marine technicians. We hope to encourage the ocean and environments youngest stewards through the power and fun of hands on education. We offer programs such as marine archaeology, remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs), environmental science, glacial geology and more to introduce students to all of the sciences that rely on one another. How the programs will work
How the programs will work
1. Look through the schedule and descriptions of each program we offer and select the one you would like to participate in
2. Preregister online today to reserve your spot, or arrive for the program the day of
NOTE: programs are first come first serve, please arrive to the park at least 10 minutes before your program time
3. Park at the main lot upon entrance to the park
NOTE: If you preregister for the program, you do not have to pay the $8 entrance fee for the park. But this is ONLY if you preregister. Arrive at the booth and say you are with OceansWide, then proceed to park.
4. If you arrive early (or just prefer it), you can walk up to the Main House OR wait for our buses in the parking lot.
NOTE: Buses are only provided to those who preregister and will leave the parking lot 5 minutes before the scheduled program time
NOTES: Buses will NOT run on the weekends due to increased park traffic
5. Payment for the program will be made before the start of the program. We accept cash or check
