Using education and robotics, we aim to cleanse the ocean one piece at a time through an interactive game and a remote-controlled shark, Ivan.
Through our interactive game, Ocean Knights, players follow along with Coral the Explorer to learn facts about beaches and oceans, how they are affected by overabundance of waste, and how to correct methods to recycle and reduce waste. Once the game is completed, the player will receive an online certificate and IVAN.
After receiving IVAN, users can connect their phones to IVAN. Users utilize the information learned from Coral and contribute to reducing oceanic waste. More information on how IVAN is constructed is in "Tech Behind IVAN.
With the donations, the shark is maintained by Ocean Knights Corporation. The shark heads to offshore platforms or beach facilities when full of trash or low on charge. At these facilities, careful technicians and workers will work to prepare the robot for relaunch by doing a 15-point inspection, swapping the battery, and emptying the trash compartment. Additionally, the robot is striped and cleaned to ensure no ecosystem contamination is contributed by our robots. At the end of each day, all trash will be properly connected and transported to proper waste treatment facilities.
