This is a unit on ocean animal life-cycles! The unit is filled with 7 engaging lessons. First students will be learning the basics of what a life-cycle is in lesson one. Next, the students will be going on a field trip to an aquarium OR a virtual aquarium as part of lesson two to view all the ocean animals they will be learning about in future classes. Lessons three through seven go in-depth about individual ocean animals and are all in the classroom using activities on the internet such as WebQuests, childrens literature, and using hands-on inquiry based lessons.
Students will end their unit taking a unit test comprised of multiple choice questions, diagram fill-ins, and a constructed response. In groups, they will also complete a presentation to put together their learning of one specific animal and will be assessed using an analytical rubric.
