Step 1: Students will pull a popsicle stick from the mug. The popsicle stick will say the name of the animal they will be presenting to the class at the end of this unit. There will be five popsicle sticks per animal which forms five groups of five.
Step 2: Students will then get into groups and teacher will give a brief overview of what they will be doing as groups. The teacher will show the sample and explain the expectations and rubric.
Step 3: Students will compile their life cycle unit folders and utilize all their notes sheets and resources to help them create their presentation.
Step 4: Students will work in groups at assigned times (including outside of class time) to put together the stages of the life cycle and the traits of their assigned animal.
Step 5: Students will EACH write their own caption to go along with their poster once the visual aspect is completed. This will include each stage as well as traits belonging to each. This time will also be used for the students to practice their oral presentation.
Step 6: Students will present their projects to the class.
