OFFICE OF CIVIL DEFENSE

The mandate of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), as the implementing arm of the National/ Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, shall have the primary mission of administering a comprehensive national civil defense and disaster risk reduction and management program by providing leadership in the continuous development of strategic and systematic approaches as well as measures to reduce the vulnerabilities and risks to hazards and manage the consequences of disasters. 

POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING SECTION

The Policy Development and Planning Section (PDPS) is one of the sections under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division of the Office of Civil Defense Region 1. 

PDPS is the secretariat of the Regional DRRM Council and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Thematic Pillar. Among its function as secretariat is to facilitate the formulation of the Regional DRRM Plan and other DRRM Related Plans such as Contingency Plan. It is also tasked to review the Local DRRM Plans and other participate in the formulation/updating of LGUs' CLUP and CDP. 

Further, it develops the OCD's Annual Plans and Program, Accomplishment Reports and other reports required by other offices. It also attends to various stakeholders' engagements.
