WHAT IS IT?
Monthly Challenges are activities which individuals and families may take to improve their gospel living. All activities are centered in the Savior and in the four areas of growth (Spiritual, Physical, Social, and Intellectual).
MONTHLY CHALLENGES
Goal: Encourage daily scripture study.
Activities:
Individuals: Read a chapter from the Book of Mormon each day.
Families: Hold a weekly family scripture study and discussion.
Ward: Share insights and favorite verses in a weekly ward email or social media group.
Goal: Promote service and kindness.
Activities:
Individuals: Perform one act of kindness each day (e.g., compliment someone, help a neighbor).
Families: Plan and execute a family service project (e.g., clean the chapel, donate for those in need).
Ward: Organize a ward-wide service day. (e.g. plan for a ward family donation day)
Goal: Foster a connection with ancestors and temple work.
Activities:
Individuals: Spend time each week on FamilySearch.org.
Families: Share family stories and work on a family tree together.
Ward: Host a family history workshop or a Temple Trip.
Goal: Increase missionary efforts and outreach.
Activities:
Individuals: Share a gospel message or invitation to church activities with a friend.
Families: Invite neighbors to a family home evening or church event.
Ward: Organize a “bring a friend” Sunday.
Goal: Encourage physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Activities:
Individuals: Set personal health goals (e.g., exercise, healthy eating, meditation).
Families: Plan and participate in a family fitness activity each week.
Ward: Host a health and wellness fair.
Goal: Strengthen faith and personal testimonies.
Activities:
Individuals: Write in a journal about personal faith experiences.
Families: Share testimonies during family home evening.
Ward: Have a testimony meeting or fireside.
Goal: Cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
Activities:
Individuals: Keep a daily gratitude journal.
Families: Create a gratitude tree or jar and add to it each day.
Ward: Share expressions of gratitude in sacrament meetings or ward chatgroup.
Goal: Improve and deepen prayer habits.
Activities:
Individuals: Commit to praying morning and night.
Families: Hold family prayer daily.
Ward: Organize a ward prayer chain.
Goal: Honor and keep the Sabbath day holy.
Activities:
Individuals: Study Sabbath-related scriptures and talks.
Families: Plan meaningful Sabbath day activities.
Ward: Share Sabbath day experiences in ward meetings.
Goal: Prepare for and reflect on General Conference.
Activities:
Individuals: Study talks from previous conferences.
Families: Discuss conference messages and set goals.
Ward: Host a conference recap and goal-setting session.
Goal: Serve others in meaningful ways.
Activities:
Individuals: Volunteer at local charities or within the community.
Families: Plan and execute a family service project.
Ward: Organize a ward-wide service initiative.
Goal: Focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
Activities:
Individuals: Study the life of Christ and His teachings.
Families: Participate in “Light the World” activities.
Ward: Host a nativity event or Christmas program.
