Øblivia was formed in 2024 by bassist Alex Rudnick and drummer Luke Gerhardt, former members of the punk band Burn Your Idols. The band spent the next year touring in search of a singer, and after returning from their summer '25 tour, began working part-time with the singer of Never Fall Apart, Joe Goodrow. As a group, Øblivia is continuing to release music and tour across the region.

The band's sound focuses on melodic basslines supported by rock-solid drumming and strong vocals. Their sound also relies heavily on bass chords and effect pedals that create a crushing sonic atmosphere. Their influences start with their punk roots, while also bringing in sounds from post-hardcore, grunge, prog, nu-metal, and post-grunge.
