Update: We are currently hiring multiple fully-funded graduate students, undergraduate students and visiting scholars! The first year graduate students will be selected as the prestigious Ira A. Fulton fellowship from the ASU School of Engineering.

Graduate student: Please apply to our graduate program on the website, and indicate your interest in working with us in your application. Various internal and external fellowships are also available, e.g., The Irv and Ruby Kaufman Fellowship and SNAME graduate scholarships.
We welcome students interested in at least two of the following areas: solid & structural mechanics, machine learning, robotics, CFD simulation, and fluid dynamics experiment.
Please note the deadline for application to graduate study at ASU is: Fall Semester – December 31, Spring Semester – August 1
For Master students enrolled in Fulton Schools of Engineering, you can also work with me under the Master’s Opportunity for Research in Engineering (MORE) program.
Postdoctoral scholars: We can only consider scholars with external sources of funding or fellowship, such as https://pda.usc.edu/2019/07/24/external-sponsoring-opportunities/. We may have future fully-funded postdoc openings in soft robotics and offshore renewable energy. Potential candidates with strong backgrounds in fluid-structure interaction, soft robotics, machine learning can send their CV to leixinma@asu.edu
Undergraduate students: Highly-motivated undergraduate students are encouraged to get in touch. The students are encouraged to apply Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI) (Proposals are due the 3rd Wednesday of every March and October), Summer Research Initiative (SURI) etc. No prior research experiences are expected.
