🔪 The Descent into the Thanksgiving Tundra 🔪
Welcome to Week 15 (November 25, 2025): When (fuckin shit) Life Happens - The Unplanned Event (Holiday Edition). Use the questions of the week to deeply reflect on how you handled recent setbacks and to strategically plan for holidays and any high-pressure situation. Following your reflection, commit to practicing the two recovery strategies included with the questions. These are non-negotiable tools to use for consistency.
How did an unexpected life event (urgent or otherwise) impact your ability to follow your action plan last week?
Did you turn to a tool of the program or your AB for support when your plan was disrupted?
How can you avoid scheduling every moment next week to create
breathing room for the unexpected?
Here are two examples of STRESSFUL EVENT STRATEGIES. Click the link in the chat to add to the Stressful Event Strategies document - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dwGEP-iWr2Opd01DHMh9F_DUHiFu54VsMpj1U5wLjJ4/edit?usp=sharing
Focuses on the Phase 2 Goal (Overcoming Obstacles) and creating breathing room in challenging environments.
Concept: Using body language to set a non-verbal boundary for one's self in a crowded, high-stress situation.
The Activity: Ask everyone to think of the most challenging family member or stressful environment they will face this week.
The Action: Create your own pose that is a non-verbal reinforcing self-care and boundaries.
EXAMPLES:
The "Gratitude/Stress Meter" (Kinesthetic/Movement). Designate areas in the room: Stand or sitting for (High Gratitude/Serenity or High Stress/Fear).
The Takeaway: A physical rehearsal of a boundary-setting technique they can use during a stressful holiday or any type of gathering.
The "Holiday Hand-Off" (To your AB or HP)
Focuses on the questions: "Did you turn to a tool of the program… (question #2)?" and overcoming obstacles (question #1).
Concept: Proactive planning and immediate tool commitment for high-risk holiday scenarios.
The Prompt:
Identify one specific Thanksgiving obstacle (e.g., "The hour-long drive delay," "My aunt's commentary," or "The dessert buffet"). Share your plan to delay, delegate or delete the stress associated with it.
