We wouldn't be where we are without our amazing partners all around campus! Here you can find some information about each location.
NYU's Wasserman Center
Tell us about your program:
Sarah (she/her) will be coordinating sessions at the Wasserman Center. She first joined the Naughty Knitters in 2015 and has been crocheting/knitting since the mid-90s/late-00s, respectively! This group will meet weekly during lunch time at the Wasserman Center in Palladium on the first Wednesday of the month (subject to availability). Please email Sarah to be added to a Google calendar invite with the specific time and location within Wasserman.
Let us know the goal(s) of your session:
The majority of our current members are new to the fiber arts, so I've been doing a lot of the teaching. The primary goals are to contribute to the NK mission and learn/develop in their skills.
What are the requirements for new members?
We're open to everyone from beginners to experienced crafters. I have a lot of yarn still, although we've gone through our crochet hooks so I'll need to pick up more if people come without tools. We've been made up of only administrators so far, but I'm happy to welcome students or faculty.
Who should we contact with questions?
Sarah Rosenthal, sdr349@nyu.edu
What are the dates and times of the sessions?
Wednesdays, 12-1pm, Wasserman Center Career Commons
Silver Center for Arts & Science
Tell us about your program:
Hi! I'm Anna (she/her) and I'll be organizing NK sessions in the Silver Center for Arts & Science. I'm relatively new to knitting (my sister taught me last summer while we were on a trip together) and eager to continue learning new skills and techniques, as well as connecting with others who are also interested in the fiber arts!Â
Let us know the goal(s) of your session:
To start new projects and work on existing ones; improve skills; connect with other knitters/crocheters; and introduce new people to the craft! I'm happy to instruct on knitting basics like casting on, knitting vs. purling, etc., but I won't be able to answer every question (I'm still learning too!).
What are the requirements for new members?
I will have yarn available, courtesy of the Naughty Knitters, but members should plan on bringing their own tools (knitting needles, crochet hooks, etc.).
Who should we contact with questions?
Me! Anna Donch (add377@nyu.edu)
What are the dates and times of the sessions?
Weekly on Thursdays at 12:30-1:45pm in the Silver Center, Room 503-K
