The Emergency Service Unit is apart of the Special Operations Bureau of the New York State Police. This unit provides specialized support and advanced equipment to other NYSP units. Members of ESU are cross-trained in multiple disciplines for police, medical, and rescue work. The USU team works 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Allowing for them to be ready for that call of a person in need of help. The ESU is an elite team that is trained to do anything from getting keys from a drain to a barricaded suspect.
