Manufacturing Day 2023

Ten students in 10th and 11th grade participated in this event. Students had the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers in manufacturing, many of which involved coding and other technology related careers. Hands-on activities allowed students to engage with tools that are used in the field. Students were able to ask questions and discuss how their interests align with some of the careers they learned about.

Acer eLearning Repair Program

Students at Dryden Central School now have the opportunity to participate in the Acer eLearning Repair Program.  This model-specific program introduces students to the basics of hardware repair. Users work through the online course at their own pace, watching videos and passing quizzes along the way to advance. For the final hands-on assessment, students choose to replace either the mainboard or the LCD module. An experienced campus staff member observes and documents this repair using the online checklist.

Students who successfully complete this program can be hired by the district to support IT staff in repairing damaged devices. Students will also have the opportunity to work in the summer as the district preparis devices for the new school year.

More information about this program can be found by visiting  https://www.acer.com/us-en/education/service-support/elearning-repair-program

The Roar Report Podcast

In Year 2 of the grant, students began to learn about sound recording and podcasts.  As a result, our Student Technology Assistant is now recording and producing the Roar Report Podcast, which features Superintendent Bacigalupi who will provide the latest and greatest happening at Dryden Central School.
