When arresting a suspect, the suspect first must be subdued before they are detained. This means an officer must use their baton and/or taser to stop the suspect before handcuffing them. After detaining them, the arresting officer must read the suspect their Miranda rights. These rights are as follows, “You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to an attorney, if you can not afford one, one will be appointed to you.” After reading the suspect their Miranda rights, the officer must then inform the suspect of what crime they are being arrested for. The list of crimes and reasons to give them can be found below. After doing this, the officer then can arrest the suspect and put him in jail.
Before patrolling, probationary officers must first find an FTO to help supervise them while on patrol. Any officer with Officer II rank or higher is allowed to supervise a probationary officer and act as an FTO. To find an FTO, a probationary officer can either ask one in voice chat or in the #officer-request channel in the Discord. The FTO must be with the probationary officer at all times during the patrol and the probationary officer must sign off when the FTO leaves. Once finished patrolling, both the FTO and probationary officer must separately fill out a log in the #end-patrol-log channel in the Discord. As well as this, the FTO must also fill out an FTO log in the #fto-logs channel.
Any time an officer is breaching a door with at least one other officer the following procedure must be followed. If the officer is breaching alone, they do not need to follow procedure and can just break down the door. The breaching procedure first starts with one officer pulling out a battering ram and standing next to the door. After doing so, the officer must then type “stack” in chat to signify to all other officers to get in a line behind him. Once everyone is in the line, the front officer with the battering ram must then type “RTB” to ask everyone in the line if they are Ready To Breach. If the other officers are ready, they must type “R” in chat to signify that they are ready to breach. Once all officers in the stack have typed R, the breacher must then type “B” or “Breach” then breach down the door. After doing this, the breaching officer backs away and moves to the back of the line and the rest of the officers move in to apprehend or neutralize the suspect.
