Biography

Chao-Hsin Chien was born in 1968. He received the Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1997. His Ph.D. dissertation research focused on plasma-induced charging damage on deep-submicron devices with ultra-thin gate oxides.

He joined National Nano Device Laboratory as an Associate Researcher in 1999. Currently, he is a full professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 SCI journal papers and tens of international conference papers. He has been awarded the Wu-Da Yew memorial award by the National Science Council. His research interests and activities cover Ge-based device, III-V MOSFET, high-κ dielectric, and 2D materials.
