Reduce End of Year Waste

Have extra supplies to clean out? Don’t throw them out!

We’re partnering with Materials for the Arts (MFTA) to keep classroom supplies out of landfills. We have two great opportunities for your school. Pick one, or both!

Host Your Own school Supply Swap

Have your own supply swap at your school to trade excess supplies with your colleagues.

This is an option you can put together with your colleagues and PA/PTA.

Check out this flyer for guidance:

How to Get Started

1) Start a collection box

Set aside a box or bin in your classroom and start organizing your excess supplies.

Download this flyer and print on scrap paper to label your box!

2) Recruit Volunteers

Ask your PA/PTA to help organize your swap! They could volunteer to organize supplies and run the swap, and they can help with donation too.

Your Green Team or student government can help spread the word around the school.

3) Make a transport plan

If you can get your materials to MFTA, that’s great! If you need more help transporting supplies, make plans with your school network.

4) Spread the Word!

Let everyone in your school know about your plans!
