Best Practices

The following policy has been developed to ensure a successful visit for four-year college and university representatives visiting the 2-year college campuses:

Guidelines for Four-Year Representatives:

> Request a visit to according to individual community college guidelines in advance to ensure effective promotion of the event and available space.  Request can be via the NW STEP website or by email based on the preference of the community college coordinator.

> If a pass is needed, print the parking pass provided and place on the dash of your car. Please do not park in parking spots designated for Visitors, Carpool, handicapped or otherwise restricted.

> If unable to attend or will not arrive on time, email or call as soon as possible.

Guidelines for Transfer Fairs

> RSVP to Transfer Fair by deadline set by Transfer Coordinator.

> Failure to notify Transfer Coordinator of planned absence or tardiness may result in loss of privilege to attend future fairs.

Guidelines for Transfer Coordinator:

> Communicate with representative prior to event with details regarding the visit and provide a parking pass if needed.

> Promotion for the event will include all-campus emails, sandwich boards on campus, flyers to faculty/staff, and announcements at meetings. Events will also be posted on the website if given enough notice.

> Reserve the tables in agreed upon location with signage.

> Provide Wi-Fi access information if requested via email prior to the event.

> Email representative if any changes need to be made for the visit.

Special thanks to South Seattle College for helping to create these guidelines.
