Need a low-cost breading? Crush up pork rinds (gluten free) or saltines and mix in spices.
Rice and pasta are easily substituted with each other. If you're thinking a dish needs noodles but don't have them on hand, rice should work just fine
Keep greens good for longer! Store greens in water (like you would flowers) in the fridge to keep them from wilting as quickly
Need some sauce or flavor? Next time you make a purchase at a gas station, grab a couple packets of sauce to make meals tastier
Want to make your food last? Save liquid drained from veggies to use for cooking rice or noodles

baking substitutions
APPLESAUCE
Use applesauce as a substitute for oil. Same measurements and everything!
Applesauce is also a fine substitute for eggs in most baking recipes. Sub 1/3 cup applesauce per egg.
PORK RINDS
Use crushed pork rinds as breading for vegetables and meats or to mix into veggie burgers/meatballs, then bake or fry.
