Hello Neighbors!

I'm partnering with NWA Mutual Aid to help fight food insecurity by organizing a neighborhood food drive. Many folks in our community are unable to access traditional food pantries right now; your support can help make sure that these community members are cared for during the ongoing public health crisis. Here is a list of suggested items: canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned or dry beans, rice/pasta, peanut butter, oatmeal/cereal, granola bars, pasta sauce. Personal care and hygiene items are also appreciated.

I have set up a box to collect donations at [ADDRESS & DESCRIPTION HERE] or I can arrange to pick up goods from your porch. Please avoid donating opened or expired items.

Thanks!

A few tips for creating an effective food drive:

  1. Donate unexpired goods in your pantry that you would want to eat and restock your supply next time you make a grocery run

  2. Add a few extra pantry favorites to your cart during your weekly or biweekly run to the store

  3. Consider donating a 'meal' - like pasta sauce, noodles and a canned vegetable

  4. Include spices and broths to help make meals more delicious

FAQs

When does the collection period end?
You decide! As you receive items, you can contact mutualaidnwa@gmail.com and we'll arrange to pick up, pack up, and distribute all of the donations you collect through our volunteer network.

Where will our neighborhood donations go?
Donated items will be distributed to community members who are not able to access other area food resources due to ID restrictions, frequency limitations or mobility/accessibility reasons.
