Sessions are for rising 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders (exceptions can be made)
Sessions will be held in person
Location TBD (currently negotiating with Reston Library for available space)
Each class will incorporate different aspects of public speaking and answer the following questions:
What is debate?
Why is debate important?
What are good speaking exercises and drills?
How can I argue a position I don't personally agree with?
How can I formulate and execute a proper debate case?
How can I respectfully refute/disagree with someone in an argument or a debate match?
In what ways can I apply what I learned in the real world?
Sessions will teach varying debate styles and key aspects of speech-giving
Sessions will prepare students for school debate and/or future public speakingÂ
