Who: This garden is a partnership between Southern Charm Property Maintenance, the Greater Syracuse Landbank, Syracuse Grows, and Hopeprint. Thank you to our Sponsors: Hawley Market, Dominick's Meat Market, Kairos Cafe, Pyramid Halal Market, Spoon & Chopsticks, Nice Biscuit, DiLauro's, Network System Consultants, Havey's Garden, and DVC Games!
What: The Hawley-Green Cultivating Community Garden is part of the Greater Syracuse Landbank Green Lots Program, a member garden of Syracuse Grows, and part of the Nurturing Neighborhoods Community Gardens on the Northside.
Where: 618 Hawley, Syracuse, NY, 13208
When: Anyone is welcome to come hang out in the garden after sunrise and before sunset. For liability reasons if you go into the garden before sunrise or after sunset you do so at your own risk. Thank you. There are typically volunteers in the garden at least once a week to plant, water, weed, mow, etc. If you'd like to get in on that fun, use the contact options below to reach out!
Why: Community Gardens provide not only food for neighborhoods but opportunities for neighbors to connect with each other!
I'd like to grill in the garden - how do I get permission to do that?: Use the contact info below to reach out. In order to grill in the garden you need to make sure you have at least one(1) five-gallon container of water (which we can provide) and a hand wash station (which we can also provide).

Neighbors helped with an Earth Day Clean Up, John built new Hugel form planters and compost bins. Neighborhood kids helped with planting and tending, and neighbors joined us for several potlucks and cookouts in the garden - Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fathers Day, and more - Halloween was awfully wet but we still distributed a lot of canned goods and shelf stable foods to those who stopped by!
