Chelsea currently resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Chelsea has been a nurse for 8 years, all of which have been in Mental Health and Addictions. She was drawn to mental health during nursing school, as you have time to form meaningful connections and support individuals during some of their most vulnerable times. Chelsea is in her last few courses before completing her Master's with a focus in teaching. Currently, Chelsea works as a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Forensic Psychiatry portfolio.

Joni lives in Corner Brook, NL and has been an RN for 23 years. Joni's specialty is mental health and addictions, and she has held multiple clinical and leadership roles in this area. She is currently in a management/project development position, working on developing the following services: a sober-living residence, a mental health step-down unit, and a mental health day treatment program.

Julie identifies as Métis and represents NunatuKavut Inuit. With over 20 years of professional experience in a career she loves, Julie has learned that nursing combines human compassion and brilliant scientific knowledge. In 2021, she began her leadership journey and enrolled in the Master of Health Studies program, focusing on leadership and health promotion. After more than a decade working in sexual health and harm reduction, Julie now serves as a program manager, leading a dedicated team that supports some of the most vulnerable equity-seeking members of the community in the North Bay Parry Sound district.
Kara Fogel, BScN, CDE

Kara is a Diabetes Clinical Practice Lead with advanced training in nursing education and a strong commitment to trauma-informed care. She mentors nurses, leads educational initiatives, and designs curriculum that bridges clinical insight with evidence-informed educational practices. Her work spans both inpatient settings and outpatient liaison roles with First Nations communities. In these partnerships, Kara prioritizes listening & relationship building, honouring lived experience & community wisdom as central to responsive, culturally safe education.
