Learning can be a challenge for many, but Indigenous students pursuing nursing education often face challenges in their education with inequities that stem from colonialism and systemic racism. These students often come from different educational backgrounds and encounter social, cultural and educational barriers that can affect their academic success. Supporting Indigenous students through their nursing educational journey serves as a means of addressing systemic racism in healthcare, however much attention to ways of supporting these students to succeed is crucial to their success (Bourque Bearskin et al., 2017).
