Numbers 23:19
God Does Not Lie
19 God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
Psalm 89:14
Righteousness and Justice Are the Foundation of God's Throne
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
We learn from Scripture that God never lies and that He give Perfect Justice...We know that "God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind...Has He said, and will He not do it?...Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?"...This Scripture emphasizes that God is unlike humans...He doesn't lie or change His mind...His word is Always the Truth and Always Reliable...Paul, in his letter to Titus that "...who is God, blessed forever...He cannot lie..."...Paul is directly stating that God is incapable of lying...The Hebrews author says: "Since God cannot lie, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us."...This verse highlights the importance of God's truthfulness for our faith...Because He cannot lie, we can have confidence in all of His promises...
God gives us Perfect Justice..."The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice...A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He."...This verse describes God's work as Perfect and His Ways as Always just...He is faithful and completely righteous...The Psalmist writes: "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; LOVE and faithfulness go before You."...The Psalmist highlights righteousness and justice as the foundation of God's throne...And Isaiah tells us: "Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion...For the LORD is a God of Justice...Blessed are all who wait for Him!"...This verse emphasizes God's desire for justice and His compassion for those who wait on Him...
A. W. Tozer, a minister, says these things about God never lying and His Perfect Justice...“True faith rests upon the character of God and asks no further proof than the moral perfections of the One who cannot lie.”...“What we think about when we are free to think about what we will – that is what we are or will soon become.”...“Justice is not something God has...Justice is something that God is.”...“We can never know who or what we are till we know at least something of what God is.”...“Let every man abide in the calling wherein he is called and his work will be as sacred as the work of the ministry...It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, it is why he does it.”...“The vague and tenuous hope that God is too kind to punish the ungodly has become a deadly opiate for the consciences of millions.”...“We might be wise to follow the insight of the enraptured heart rather than the more cautious reasoning of the theological mind.”...“God's justice and God's mercy do not quarrel with each other.”...
