A brief video to illustrate the bundles and describe the process of using the evidence within these to tell the story of your progress in the 1:1 Tutorials.
NB This was recorded for a previous cohort so the calendar displayed is out of date - all other content and messaging is still relevant.
Further guidance for preparing for your 1:1 Tutorial
You should use this template to prepare your 1:1 Tutorial Presentation using the guidance provided.
Please remember that your presentation should be well rehearsed and last 30 minutes, spending approximately 10 minutes addressing each key question.
This is an example of a presentation slide-deck from a previous trainee. Please note that they included their “script” as detailed annotations on each slide… While this helped them by providing prompts to talk to/through, it meant that they needed more slides than were necessary! We recommend using briefer annotations / labels which allow you to fit more pieces of evidence on fewer slides. Rather than try to remember or read from a script, talking through the slides more naturally with a clear focus on answering the question rather than describing lessons, will improve the flow and quality of your presentation.
NB. The February tutorial is designed to build on the video and form - not repeat them - so completing this preparation is essential.
Whilst watching this 12 minute video, please complete the form below so that we can capture your understanding.

Before the tutorial, identify one upcoming lesson or assessment you expect to teach early in Placement 2. You will use this lesson in the tutorial to think carefully about language demand, task design and scaffolding.
We’re looking forward to working with you as you move further into Placement 2 with confidence, clarity and shared language around high-quality, inclusive teaching.
This document outlines the universal provision strategies which you will refer to during your small group tutorial.

In the meanwhile, you can access the Template below to view the prompts and get a sense of how with this presentation we want you to align your evidence to the Teachers' Standards rather than the Strands of our Curriculum. Please read all of the information provided within the slide deck carefully.

In response to the prompts on the slides, avoid simply describing activities or what happened in lessons. Instead, make clear claims about your development and impact, and support these with precise evidence from your bundles. Where possible, make comparisons over time, and provide evidence to show how you know your teaching helped lead to the improvements described.
Please remember that your presentation should be well-rehearsed and last 40 minutes, spending approximately 10 minutes addressing each of the Tutor-Selected Teachers' Standards (including Standard 5).
