NU Curling is a community-building graduate club dedicated to teaching and playing the great winter sport of curling. Our free events take place at the Chicago Curling Club in Northbrook (website) | (Map), just a short carpool ride away.
From fall through spring, we host scheduled lessons and games throughout the season that are open to all skill levels. Whether you're new to the sport or an experienced curler, we invite you to join us on the ice.
Learn the fundamentals, practice your skills, and play friendly games at our regularly scheduled sessions.
We regularly send teams to regional and national curling tournaments and have hosted the Northwestern Bonspiel to cap off past seasons.
Connect with fellow graduate students who share an interest in curling, compete in tournaments, and enjoy structured social opportunities throughout the season.
Sign up for our upcoming curling sessions, check out the practice schedule, or reach out with any questions. Newcomers and experienced players alike are welcome!

Northwestern Curling Club members got a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of Olympic history! Before their practice on Saturday, they had a chance to see (and even hold) actual medals from two former Olympic curlers who were visiting the Chicago Curling Club! It was a brief but unforgettable moment that brought the thrill of the games a little closer to home.
Pictured below: USA's only Gold medal in curling won by Tyler George at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea (left and middle) and Bronze medal won by Karri Willms at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, when curling was only a demonstration sport (right).

The Chicago Curling Club is hosting 2026 Olympic Watch Parties for select matches, and they're open to the public and completely free. It's a great chance to watch high-level curling, hang out with other curlers, and soak in some Olympic vibes without needing to be a club member.
If you're looking for something low-key to do with friends, or just want to watch some top-tier curling with other people who love the sport, this could be a really fun option.
You can find more details and match schedules on the Chicago Curling Club's website: https://chicagocurlingclub.org/eventPage.php/watch-party-26

We're excited to announce that the Northwestern Curling Club's new website is now live! The udated site makes it easier to find practice schedules, learn about bonspiels, explore club membership, and stay up to date with news and events.
We'll be adding more features soon, but for now, take a look around and let us know if you spot anything that needs adjusting!
