There is no strict requirements on prerequisite knowledge before joining the lab. There is also no strict requirements on the efforts you need to make in the lab. However, it is strongly recommended (though not mandatory) that you have some passion or motivation for music or audio research. Conducting research is often accompanied by countless failures, which require motivation or passion to overcome. Therefore, it would be great if you have some motivations.

本實驗室沒有任何加入的先備條件，同時也不限制學生需要花費在研究上的時間與心力。但是，我們強烈建議（雖然並非強制）加入本實驗室的學生須對音樂或音訊相關研究具備熱情或動力。做研究總是伴隨無數的失敗，而要克服這些失敗需要熱情或動力。如果你對於音樂或音訊研究，甚至於某個特定的研究題目具備熱忱，那麼無論你是否擁有資訊相關背景，都歡迎加入本實驗室。

If you are interesting in our lab and would like to join it, it is recommended to first check the question list here, and tell Prof. Wang your preferences. With your preference, it would be much easier to find the research topic that both fits your preference and also fits the research direction of our lab.
