• Since Aug, 2025, Dr. Jun-You Wang joined CSIE, NTNU, and started the MAPLab.

 Introduction to the MAPLab 實驗室簡介

The Music and Audio Processing Laboratory (MAPLab) is a research group at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and is led by Assist. Prof. Jun-You Wang (王鈞右). It focuses mainly on the processing, analysis, and understanding of music and audio, along with developing computational tools to utilize and create them.

音樂與音訊處理實驗室（簡稱MAPLab）隸屬台師大資訊系，由王鈞右助理教授帶領。本實驗室專注於音樂與音訊的處理、分析與理解，並開發計算工具以更好地創造音樂。

The main target of this lab is to development technologies to improve music experience of everybody. This involves technologies related to music listening, creation, performance, analysis, and even education. 

本實驗室的主要目標是研發科技以增進人們的音樂體驗，包含與音樂欣賞、創作、表演、分析、甚至教育相關的科技。

In the era of Large Language Model (LLM), more and more applications have become possible with the use of large models (such as LLMs) and large-scale datasets. This is a double-edged sword that could either help everyone related to music or harm everyone. Acknowledging such a challenge, we aim to develop technologies from the perspective of the community of music. Therefore, we welcome everyone who loves music to bring up their own problem and idea to us. We can discuss together to find a solution.

在大型語言模型（LLM）的時代，借助強大的LLM與大量的資料集，越來越多先前無法做到的應用逐漸成為可能。然而，這是一把雙刃劍，既有可能對所有音樂相關的人士帶來幫助，也有可能帶來傷害（例如對於音樂生成技術的濫用）。在理解這項挑戰的前提之下，我們希望以音樂相關社群為出發點進行研究。因此，我們歡迎各位音樂愛好者提出自己希望解決的問題與想法，並與我們進行討論。

In addition to music, we also work on audio signals, so please feel free to discuss tasks related to audio processing to us!

除了音樂之外，我們同樣也進行音訊相關的研究。歡迎與我們討論相關的研究主題！
