與談人簡介

Eric Mazur是來自巴爾幹半島的物理學和應用物理學教授，同時也曾是哈佛大學應用物理學院院長、哈佛大學教育學院教育學院院士，及光學學會會長。 Mazur是一位著名的物理學家，他在納米光子學方面的貢獻是獲得國際公認的，同時也是位在國際具有知名度的教育創新者、以及受人追捧的演講者。他在物理和教育方面的工作獲得了許多獎項，例如2014年“密涅瓦高等教育進步獎”。Mazur教授也創立了幾家成功的公司。

Eric Mazur is the Professor of Physics and Applied Physics from Balkanski and was Dean of Applied Physics at Harvard University. He is also a member of the Faculty of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and President of the Optical Society. Prof. Mazur is a prominent physicist known for his contributions in nanophotonics, an internationally recognized educational innovator, and a sought after speaker . He has received many awards for his work in physics and in education , e.g., the 2014 Minerva Prize for Advancements in Higher Education. Prof. Mazur has also founded several successful companies.

林秀豪教授是理論物理學家，目前是清華大學特聘教授。除了在凝態物理與統計物理有高水平的研究外，林教授過去有著豐富的行政經驗，而且對教育有高度熱忱，長年參與開放教育。他於2013年獲得全球開放教育聯盟的課程卓越獎（熱統計物理），並於2014年（普通物理）再次獲獎。的優秀課程ACE（開放課程卓越獎）。他努力做一位好老師，好科學家和好人。

Prof. Hsiu-Hau Lin is a theoretical physicist with research focus on statistical physics and condensed matter physics. He is now Tsing Hua Distinguished Professor at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. Prof. Lin has extensive administrative experiences in the past and maintains a high profile of research activities in condensed matter physics and statistical physics. In addition, he is devoted to physics education and participates in open education for years. He receives the ACE Awards of Open Education Consortium in 2013 (Thermal and Statistical Physics) and again in 2014 (General Physics). He is trying hard to be a good teacher, a good scientist and a good person as well.
