The NSW Government is supporting the NSW-RRTN, a collaborative initiative bringing together 12 universities and their affiliated medical research institutes across NSW and the ACT to accelerate RNA research, address key challenges, and build the skilled workforce needed to grow and sustain the RNA sector.
The NSW-RRTN builds on existing NSW Government investment in the RNA ecosystem and will further advance RNA production and research for therapeutic applications in human health, agriculture, and biosecurity. It will strengthen capacity and capability across NSW and the ACT through a targeted research program alongside a region-wide education and training initiative. In doing so, the NSW-RRTN will help grow the expert workforce needed to support the state’s emerging RNA manufacturing industry.
Accelerating research and training in the NSW and ACT RNA ecosystem through the following key objectives:
To build new collaborations – across NSW and ACT and other jurisdictions, between academia, students, researchers, state and federal governments, industry and the public.
Address unmet scientific and industry challenges in RNA technology and bring a broad range of academic researchers, educators and industry together.
Promote excellence in RNA research, education and therapeutic development efforts within the NSW and ACT RNA ecosystem.
Train the new and upskill the current workforce in areas key to the immediate and sustained success of the sector.
