Natya Shodh Sansthan
Natya Shodh Sansthan began its journey On 19th July, 1981 as a theatre archive from 11, Pretoria Street, Kolkata, as a unit of Upchar Trust. The modest holding of a few journals, leaflet and diaries grew and Sansthan built up its collection of priceless materials.
The seeds of Sansthan was sown. Sansthan housed books, magazines, audio and video recordings, photographs, models of outstanding sets, masks, rare books and materials. Seminars, discussions and talks were regularly organized to record various aspects of histrionics on a pan-Indian level. The Heritage Library :
The Sansthan has set up a Heritage Library in its premises with a collection of books related to Heritage. This is an addition to its already existing Theatre Library. Based on the fact that the study of Theatre needs to be located against a broader canvas of subjects, the library is collecting books on subjects related to Heritage. Presently the collection encompasses 32 subjects in Bangla, Hindi, English and in some regional languages. Translations of several books are available. To know more go next page
