The MC18 R2j is the 1988 Honda NSR250R and went on sale in Japan on the19th January 1988 for ¥579,000.

The 1988 R2j and R4j are often referred to as the MC18 Mk I. The 1989 R5k and R6k are often referred to as the MC18 Mk II.
