NSML Project

Context

Network slicing (NS) is an enabler and critical feature for 5G/6G networks and new computing systems. NS, in short, allows virtualization with logical networks over a physical network infrastructure offering end-to-end network services for verticals (IoT, Industry 4.0, Internet of Vehicles, others) over a shared infrastructure. NS leads to cost, efficiency, and scale gains for companies and institutions.

Despite NS's numerous benefits, resource orchestration is a research gap that poses a significant challenge for slicing architectures and offering services based on network slicing.

The NSML project is relevant and innovative by proposing machine learning methods and algorithms for developing 5G/6G systems and considering energy as a resource, seeking to use it efficiently.
