During the workshop, Samuel Xu performs the “elephant toothpaste” demo to the students
On Saturday, August 10th at the MGA building, the Chemistry Team, sponsored by Stem Together, hosted their first Chemistry Workshop! Students from the Chemistry Team were passionate about educating and inspiring chemistry within younger students around the community.
Through rigorous brainstorming and testing, the Chemistry Team constructed three labs and two demonstrations that would be featured in the workshop. To gain outreach, they also created an official website, Instagram, and fundraiser! Overall, over 25 students signed up, and we fundraised over $100!
To start the workshop, the staff briefly introduced themselves and explained the workshop to the students. Students would be separated into three different groups and rotate around three different lab stations first, and at the end would come together to watch the remaining final two demonstrations. Ultimately, students would have the opportunity to engage with 15+ chemicals!

Overall, the Chemistry Workshop was a huge success!
We would like to give our thanks to Stem Together for sponsoring our workshop and providing us with a workplace, as well as the parents who donated to help with material costs! We are hoping to host more Chemistry Workshops in the future!
