Do you want to learn about the elements that make up this world through fun hands-on labs? The Newton South High School Chem Club organizes chemistry workshops for students so that they can have an opportunity to gain exposure and further develop their interest in the subject through interactive labs and practical theory. These two-hour sessions are specifically designed to provide introductory, safe, and engaging activities by members of the Chem Club.
Location:Â 288 Walnut St # 300, Newton, MA 0246
Time: August 10 (Saturday) 10 am-12 pm
Participants: Rising 6-9th Graders
In this specific workshop, national chemistry olympiad finalists who are part of the club designed 4 labs involving 15+ chemicals meant to be both educational and fun! These labs include the very famous elephant toothpaste experiment, beautiful flame tests, intriguing precipitation, and colorful redox reactions! There will also be equally fun and interesting explanations of the chemical concepts behind these experiments!
Huge thanks to STEM Together for sponsoring us!
More chemistry workshops can be expected in the future during the school year however specifics are not available yet. Look forward to announcements regarding future events!
