There has been a huge advancement in information technology in the form of reposition and conservation of digital information. Some useful software have recently been made available in the market, however, a proper choice of those is of specific interest. This could be accomplished upon successful bridging between information science and computer technology. In view of that, the present outreach program would serve the following purposes:

This could be accomplished upon successful bridging between information science and computer technology. In view of that, the present outreach program would serve the following purposes:
· To know the procedure for creation of an Institutional Digital Repository
· To know the procedure for creation of an Institutional Digital Repository
· To find out the different means for the creation of an Institutional Digital Repository
· To find out the different means for the creation of an Institutional Digital Repository
· To identify different available technologies for the creation and maintenance of an Institutional Digital Repository

· To discuss about different discovery systems appropriate for retrieval of digital resources and integration in a single window, etc. with some possible demonstrations.

Apart from these technological purposes, this program would also be a befitting tribute to the celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Prof. S.N. Bose and probably the only one on this specific issue as a part of the outreach programme of the SN Bose Centre.
