Band Boosters

About the Band Boosters:

Bylaws

The North Ridgeville Band Boosters partners with the North Ridgeville Board of Education and City Schools to promote the musical aspects of the Arts. Music education classes and exposure to rhythm, instruments and composers begins in the Early Education department and continues through high school. Formal instrumental instruction begins in fifth grade and students can continue to advance in their talent and skills in various ways. Middle School students are exposes to solo and ensemble contest and large group contest. At the high school level, students can choose to be in Jazz band, Marching Band, Concert Band, try out for Symphonic Band and continue to participate in OMEA events. The band boosters raise money to assist all of the school bands from Fifth grade to the High School and for the auxiliary who are part of the marching band.

Additionally classes in music theory and music history are offered to encourage a greater understanding of music--- interpreting it, composing it, and enjoying it.

The Band Boosters receive their income from Membership and Patron Drive, home football concession stand proceeds, the dunk booth at the North Ridgeville Corn Festival, and student fundraisers.  These proceeds are used to provide instruments, uniforms, field equipment, instrument repairs and classroom equipment.  Proceeds have also been used to offset the costs of travel expenses, educational materials, and music.

The North Ridgeville Band Boosters organization is made up entirely of volunteers. The easiest way to support students enrolled in the instrumental program is for everyone to volunteer.  All band students are expected to have a representative take at least one turn serving in the concession stand during a varsity (Friday night), junior varsity (Saturday morning), home football game.  This can be a parent, grandparent, adult friend, or a responsible sibling.  All band students are expected to participate in our annual fall and spring fundraisers.

All band families are encouraged to get involved with at least one additional volunteering opportunity throughout the course of the school year.  Help during the fall is needed with manning the booth at the Corn Festival, marching band uniform fitting, third quarter snacks, pit crew (hauling equipment), chaperoning, and concert uniform fittings.  If the fall is not a good time for you, maybe you would be able to pass out programs or sell tickets during the concert season, help with student fundraisers, or assist with the Band Auction, to name a few volunteer opportunities.

Please attend one of our monthly meetings, the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m in the NRAC Cafetorium . Support our bands by becoming an active member of the team!
