Print Extras

The following pages contain the extras that are only available in the print version of the novel (mainland China version, simplified Chinese), there is no official online version. Please buy the books if you're able to!

The simplest way to purchase the books is via Taobao and listings can be found by searching for the book title 无污染,无公害. If you're not familiar with how Taobao works, I recommend using a proxy service.

And also, a reminder to purchase the VIP chapters on JJWXC if you haven't! Links to the novel and a purchase guide are on the home page of this site.

Please do not list these chapters on Novel Updates or any other sites, and do not repost them anywhere.

Some translation notes before proceeding:

[1] Changsheng Zhai — 长生斋 cháng shēng zhāi

长生 "changsheng" literally means "long life" and is the name Wei Xiao adopted when he was lying low and working as a chef.

zhāi is used to indicate that the place is a shop. I think it's a bit antiquated, I don't see it very often.

[2] Sanxian — 三鲜 sān xiān

sān means "three," while xiān can mean "fresh" or "savoury" (I've also seen it translated as "umami"). It's not fixed what the three fresh or savoury ingredients are for a sanxian flavour but in general, it means that the dish has three main ingredients.
