We are seeking for two new PhD students  to join our team in early 2022 and participate in my Junior Star project "Vectors, symbionts and pathogens: a complex story of Triatominae microbiomes". If you like to solve complex tasks and develop your skills in metagenomics, bioinformatics or advanced microscopy do not hesitate to contact me. After a very strange year, I am greatful to be back in the field and join my collaborators Kevin Vogel at UGA and Norm Beatty at UF. May the Triatominae field sampling start at very unusual habitats! Back home, other members of the lab are carrying out the annual sampling for lice and other ectoparasites.

I am extremely pleased to announce that Czech Science Foundation supported my grant proposal "Vectors, symbionts and pathogens: a complex story of Triatominae microbiomes" (https://gacr.cz/en/czech-science-foundation-to-fund-nearly-50-expro-and-junior-star-projects/). The project is funded under the Junior Star scheme from 2021 to 2025.

The project "Interplay of mosquitoes, bacterial symbionts and viruses in Europe" was awarded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions – Individual Fellowships of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, supported by European funds to Sonia M Rodríguez-Ruano, under the supervision of Eva Nováková for the next 2 years.

The project "Ecological stability and significance of the microbiomes in blood feeding subfamily Triatominae, vectors of Chagas disease" was awarded by the GACR Junior program of the National Grant Agency of the Czech Republic to Eva Nováková as PI. Congratulations!
