Photo Contest

The dahlia society is excited to announce a photo contest to all its members. Below is a list of the classes and rules.

Class 1: Picture of Individual Dahlia Bloom on a plant. This class includes a picture of a single bloom dahlia (any form) with name on the dahlia plant.

Class 2: Picture of dahlia plant (multiple blooms) or dahlia in your garden. Include a picture of your dahlias, one plant with blooms, with named or a dahlia plant in your garden.

Class 3: Close-up of an individual bloom (any form). This includes a close-up picture of a named individual dahlia bloom.

Class 4: Vase arrangement/creative bloom arrangement. Include a picture of dahlias being used in an arrangement either in a vase or any other type of arrangement. Can be with mixed with other flowers or foliage.

Class 5: Open class of dahlia pictures. This is an open class of dahlias used in any other means that are not covered in the first 4 classes. This could be pictures of wildlife in your dahlias, pollinators on the blooms, dahlias grown in containers, etc. Dahlia blooms must be named.

RULES

Only one entry per class.
Only Dahlia Society members may enter.
Photos will be judged on composition, focus and exposure. Deadline for Entries is Nov 9th,2025.

A monetary prize of $50.00 for 1st place, $30 for 2nd place and $20 for 3rd place will be awarded to the best entry in each class.
All ties will be broken by doing a run-off vote.
Each entry sent must include the photographers name, e-mail and mailing address.
The winning entries will be announced at the November meeting when we hope to present them as a program.
