For this project, I had to take a survey to see how addiction I am to social media. Also, pick a statistic I find interesting.
Social Media Addiction Survey
After taking the Am I Addicted to Social Media questionnaire, I noticed that I use social media frequently. I will need to rethink the amount I spend on my phone. I have been spending too much time on my phone and need to find activities to do.
Results
"You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?"
I found this statistic about how teens feel about giving up social media. It looked interesting to me because I thought more people would find it hard to give up and spend time on social media. I feel like I'll be in the "Somewhat hard" range due to my result in the survey.

I believe social media can both be good and bad for society. I can connect with my family and friends oversees and share what is happening with me. Also, I can see what is happening in the world and hear about Palestine from people in Gaza and West Bank without Israel propaganda. Nevertheless, people can abuse social media and it can affect their mental health. Additionally, it can lead people to do things they see on social media without knowing the side effects.
Lesson Learned
In this lesson, I learned that I need to spend less time on social media. I need to focus on myself more and spend time doing other activities.
